Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful Fourth of July! I wish we had 3 day weekends all the time! Wouldn’t that be great? Tyler and I have really enjoyed getting some rest, sitting by the pool and we went to a fireworks show last night! I also went to my first Yoga class in a very long time on Sunday. Much needed too!
Since a 3 day weekend is not the norm. I typically find myself running from one thing to the next! This doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for me to cook. I love to eat healthy and for the most part lean towards natural foods. I’m always pressed for time, lacking patience, and limited on ingredients when I cook. That’s why when I heard about Blue Apron I knew I had to try it out.
They deliver a box with fresh pre-measured ingredients right to your door once a week! You can skip any week you like. It comes with 3 recipes/meals and all the meals can be made in less than 40 minutes. Perfect for when you get home after a long day of work and the last thing you want to do is find a recipe, go to the grocery store and spend hours cooking. The best part is each meal makes two portions. So you can eat it again for leftovers but you aren’t eating the same thing for a week at a time. I love the variety too! Because I don’t have any diet preferences, I’m sent fish, chicken, and pork all in one week! Much more variety than I would get cooking on my own.
The meal in these pictures was a cod burger with cole slaw I made a few weeks ago. I’ve enjoyed making the Blue Apron meals so much that I’m already on my third week of getting meals and haven’t cancelled my subscription yet! The only downside is cleaning the dishes after cooking. I don’t mind this though, because of all the money I save by not going out to a restaurant. Tyler and I have cooked a Blue Apron meal for dinner that last two Friday nights and saved probably close to $30 each time by cooking instead of going out to eat. Plus you get so much more than a meal. You can cook the meal again anytime you would like with your recipe card. If you enjoy cooking, but without the hassle I encourage you to check out their site. Good luck getting back into the grind! As always, thank you for reading!
